Grab your friends and a camera stat, because the very photogenic café has just opened its second outlet, and it serves up equally gorgeous food and interiors.

For a café to become a favourite coffee spot, it’d have to surpass many other places in terms of food, ambience and service – kind of like a Michelin Star, but created on our own terms. There are a few places on the list, but our current obsession is everything Marci Marcel provides.
Located right on the edge of Club Street, their second outlet’s not only more convenient for many working in the city, it’s also a breath of fresh air. It’s filled beautiful French-inspired decor and plush velvet sofas a.k.a. good for extended hours of coffee talk. The rattan accent lamps are also exceptionally gorgeous against the occasional foliage, which is great for those Insta-worthy snaps. Plus, there’s an al-fresco seating area, perfect for windier days and the flakiest of croissants.
Gorgeous interiors aside, let’s talk about the food. Serving up French food is one thing, but nailing brunch too? Perhaps a classic egg and ham on toast, or something heavier for dinner like a plate of duck confit. There’s very little to dislike about this laid-back, modern café.
Hey, even if you’re looking for a drink, this place has a whole list of cocktails to choose from. If you’re looking for something to share, order up a cheese plate and some wine. Merci Marcel is fancy, classic and chill all at once, perfect for friends, colleagues or family. Pardon our French, but for giving us a place where we can imagine we’re in Paris and forget we’re in the tropics? Merci, Marcel.”
